The Virgil B. Fowler Insurance Agency is the oldest insurance agency in Cullman. It was started in 1878 by William Richard, Col. John G. Cullman’s junior partner. Virgil B. Fowler purchased the agency in 1935 – continuing the tradition set by William Richard.

As the agency grew and expanded, Virgil B. Fowler was joined by his son Virgil B. Fowler, Jr. in 1956, and the family tradition continues with its present owners Virgil B. Fowler, Jr., Dorothy S. Fowler and Jason S. Fowler, who serve our community with a special appreciation for not only preserving the heritage of Cullman, but supporting the growth of our community toward the future.
